I was thinking about sending my grandmas Kirby classic for a rebuild. I was wandering what to do with out the proof of ownership. My great grandmother bought it originally and while it was hers she had moved 2-3 times and then grandma got it in the 80's when she got a HeritageII when they first came out. The Classic has been in grandmas garage since 1996 when she bought a singer because after a few surgeries the kirby was too heavy. I use it to clean her carpeted porches. Anyway, in the midst of the few moves and the transfer to grandma the proof of sale and the owners manual have been lost. I do know that it is registered in my great grandmothers name and that it was sold by Kirby of Washington. Is this enough to show that we are the original owners? If not do you know how much more a rebuild would be as with the proof of being the original owner it is $37.50 the rebuild department told me.
Any help on this would be grealty Appreciated.
Thanks,
Sam
