I have a random question.
Did they make a classic 3 (2cb) with a zipper the full length.
I am guessing no as the reason to have a full length zipper is for a bagged machine and tradition is first bag setup hence Kirby bag type 1.

Les, I do not know what model that is - I can check next time I am there, if it is still there. Many of those are missing model plates so those would be unknowns. My 505 currently wears a 508 belt lifter.
Yes, that grey lexan goes to crap over the decades. I have a Tradition with a grey fan that looks like a dry Texas riverbed. Needless to say it must be replaced.
I have not started stripping any of those machines, but I did rob some parts from one. I do need to strip some of the worse looking ones as I cannot leave them all stacked on the patio for long.
I may try to restore one Classic and sell it cheap along with the attachments and shampooer set.
I doubt he will give me the gold Heritage - if it does not sell he will take it with him.
I have never seen a full zipper on a genuine Kirby Classic III bag.
I put the two DS50 bag toppers aside for you - see anything else you want or need? A baker's dozen of old vacs maybe? :o)

Ben,
Yes that is what the broke blade sounds like. Vibrates a lot also.

Hey

I have approximately 2 bakers dozen Kirby's already I'm guessing.
A sanitronic 562 manual, cheap shippable stuff. The post office gets you coming and going.
I'd love the gold heritage price is good but I have tuition for next semester coming up and once I put together rainbow silver it should cover it.
If there is a 508 belt lifter I'd like it as they are more rare than black belt lifter and belt caps.

Ben

Thanks I knew you would know.

The 519 I got had a cracked fan. I'm not kidding when I opened it up it had some dust but the machine was flawless. I threw a metal fan on and it's 1959 again.
If anyone is on the fence the machines I got were immaculate. The 505 508 518 and cr1 motor and coil are pristine. The 505 and 508 I don't have to go through I just need to polish and it's minimal. The 519 I put a metal fan on you would be hard pressed to find any 519 that runs as well as mine.
If my parts machine is what it was called is a cheap machine I'd almost guarantee the fully functioning machines are just as impressive. I'd say mo4e impressive but chaning a fan on a perfect machine you can't get better than that.

I have a spare 508 belt lifter, I just need to retrieve it from my bin of parts. I pulled it off an old polisher, so it is pretty nice. I can send some pics later if interested.

Hey

If in good condition please do. I'm getting an original d50 belt lifter Wednesday. I hope he doesn't send the polisher i have to many.
Les

Hey

I'm okay. I recently noticed my collection of 500 series is 12-14. I think I'm good thanks.

It's sad that the Plano shop closed with all that stock left, and yet here are countless collectors wanting to buy these bits. I would have thought one of the online Kirby dealers would have opted for the lot?

Rowdy, I am sure a reseller would be interested in the lot, but the problem is getting the message (and the stock) to them. Since I own so much of the leftover unwanted stuff now, I would willing to sell it off on a good price for both of us. Biggest problem is the size and weight of the stuff - it makes shipping or transportation impractical... (And no, I do not have the time or space to become an official reseller of used Kirby parts.) :o)
