Kirby Heritage 84

Hello Vacuumland! Yesterday I ordered off of ebay, a Kirby Heritage 84 for only 30 dollars with free shipping. I never intended that i would ever but a kirby off of eBay because i mainly buy Orecks, but out of curiosity, I searched for Kirby's on eBay and found this one. (Now I am obsessed with Kirby's) The description of the item said that it worked great and from the looks of the pictures, it's all original. Now I have three Kirby's in my vacuum collection. They are: Kirby Classic Omega, Kirby Heritage II and now the Kirby Heritage 84. I really know nothing about Kirby's (I know really everything about Orecks) so if anyone can inform me about this vacuum such as when it was made and if it is rare or not. Also I was wondering if I payed the right price because all the other Heritage 84's on eBay were 70-80 dollars. Do any of you have a Kirby Heritage 84? Also I was wondering how much these go for after I shine it up and clean it. And both my other Kirby's (Classic Omega and Heritage II) need to be polished, if anyone can tell me what to use to polish them and how to polish the, that would be great! What is your favorite Kirby model? Also I was wondering if the Kirby classic 84 uses disposable bags. Below is a picture of my new Kirby. I now finally understand why so many people love Kirby's! Hi Tyler, it was made in 1984, not rare but not common. You got a good deal. I have a Heritage 84 and love it. You could probably get $100 if you shine it up. To polish it, take a microfibre cloth with Mother's Mag And Aluminum Polish. My favorite Kirby is probably the Tradition. It will probably use disposable bags (full length zipper), but it may have a shakeout bag (short zippered pocket) if you are lucky.

The Kirby bug!!

I grew up with a legacy II. I still remember the sales man coming by and doing his thing. Seems back the. They did not rush the demo as much as they do now. The guy used the shampooer to do our whole ha way. I have watched some demos on you tube and these guys fly throught it now. The guy never even demoed the shampooer in the video I saw. Oh well memory's. I am sure you will love your new Kirby's they clean the snot out of your rugs. I don't always like useing the hose (I prefer my royal canister). But for upright cleaning it is a joy. On another note Oreck vac are well made but I have never thought they where the best at deep cleaning however if I had to clean motel rooms I would rather lug around an 8 pounder than a legacy II.

There is no such thing as a Kirby Legacy 2. Do you mean Kirby LEGEND 2,,made in 1989-1990?

I have a Kirby Heritage that was manufactured in 1983. It's essentially the same as what you've got pictured. As an Oreck guy, you might cringe at this, but I loaned my Heritage to my girlfriend because she was having trouble with her Oreck. She vacuumed her apartment with it and raved over how well it worked. the next thing I knew, she'd pitched her Oreck in the Dumpster.

I had that model Kirby, got at church shop 18 years ago for $5, not running, needed new plug. Gave it to quasi Son's family, the baby loved to play with it, ran it for hours driving everyone nuts. They moved back here ten years later and left it up in Seattle, still running!
