My Kirby G3 is rather... Interesting.

Ever since I got it back in July, it's made some weird noises. Whenever I push it in neutral when it's on, it start to make a noise almost indescribable. It's fine in Drive mode, but it's like it's not fully getting out of drive mode.

It's harder to push in neutral when it's off then any other Kirby I've ever owned.

I'm assuming that the previous owners would turn the machine off in drive mode then switch over, causing the gears to grind.

However, could this just be a simple fix like some grease or something? Will it stay in the current position if the next owner (I'm giving it to a friend) turned it over to neutral while it's still on?

I'm going to upload a video of the sound when I get home after lunch.

G3Kirby

Hi Will if you are not surrehow to change any G3 parts take it to a Kirby dealer. Your G3 from what i can see looks very nice. I also have a G3 LOVE it. One of my best friends works for Kirby he was saying because that was the firist unit to have Teck drive they did have some problems with then. However nothing that cant be fixed. Ok good luck. Let us know how you do Doug

Mmhm... I was hoping someone wouldn't say it. The vacuum shop around here hates anyone under 18. And I can't get to a Kirby dealer.

Replacing the whole mechanism isn't an option. I'm not spending $60 on a 23 year old Kirby.
