Kirby Fan Rusted to Armature

Hello All,
I am working on a heritage 1 that suffered from a fan breakage. The screw to take the fan off is rusted so tightly to the armature. I have been using WD-40 for over a week to try and break up the rust and have only bent my screwdriver in the process. Any suggestions? I am at a loss lol...

Vice grips? I'd suggest a blowtorch but the fan being plastic and all, that would not end well.

I've had fans so tight I couldn't get them off. One of mine actually cleanly separated the metal fan from the spindle during an attempted removal.

Clean

All the flammable liquids off. Put it in a vice. Get a torch and heat up where the threads are. Heating it up expands it breaking it apart. Just make sure nothing is flammable.
If you have a machine shop nearby rhey could get it off for you pretty quickly.

You might try a penetrating lubricant called Liquid Wrench. I find it works much better than WD-40, which just doesn't penetrate as well. Liquid Wrench comes both in an aerosol and non-aerosol form. The latter is in a can like 3-in-1 oil, which I prefer.

A former neighbor of mine, who was a mechanic, swore by a product called Freeze-Off. As the name suggests, it comes out super cold, causing the metal to contract, which breaks the bond between the metal and the rust.

The little hole on the belt drive or the part that secures the fan, modern replacements have a through hole, this is the old fan off my 519, anyways you can always put some penetration oil in here as this is open to the top of the shaft, also clock wise is loosen, counter clockwise is tighten

I was able to get it! Went to the store and got vicegrips. Took it off in 3 seconds
