Kirby Dual Sanitronic 50--help

Hey everyone,

Right now I have my D50 completely taken apart and I need a bit of help with two things. One is, how do I disconnect the safety/speed switch wires? Second is, how do I tighten the fan/motor shaft (I think the steps to changing a fan would apply here)?
