You know if 10 people try to do ds50 likes you 9.5 would break it. It's much easier to switch hoods.
560 up to d80 belt lifters are interchangeable. I would bet a d80 would take a 516 belt lifter.

I removed the old belt lifter with no issues.I have a new one on the way. Apparently,I caused some confusion about the lamp lens;I thought maybe it had a diffuser lens under the hood like my g5,but realized later the ds50 didn't have those at all,so I'm good on the lamp,except for a new bulb. A new belt is in order,too. Thanks again for your help and support !

Kirby ds50

The ds50 is back to life again. A nos bottom dust cover,new belt lifter and lamp bulb was all she needed. Tested her on my garage runner and she did great! Eventually,I'll clean her up with some aluminium polish. Thank y'all for your help and advice in this endeavor !
