I have a Kirby Vacuum cloth bag that is a mystery to me as to which model it belongs to. I haven't seen the solid-lined gold logo before. It came on an old Vacuette Electric so I know it is not original to that machine. I am thinking it goes to a Model 505 or 508? I believe the Model "C" series had dashed lines going vertically up and down the front of the bag and the Model 509 had dashed red vertical lines in it.  What do you guys think?

After removing the bag hanger, it looks like the original bag color was blue... I always thought the older Kirby bags were black.

Hi Evan,

The bag serves as the Vacuette's dirt collector (although not original to the machine) so I plan to keep it for now. Thanks for the offer though.

The only other explanation I can think of is if it went to one of the Model R series. Maybe this was to distinguish the Model R series from the C series. Maybe Kirby gave them a different bag color to go along with the switch in the handles? (just a thought)

Quite the mystery!

Quite a mystery indeed!

The only blue Kirby bag i can recall was sold with the Tradtition model, around the early 1980s-ish,Quite some time after your sanitation system was manufactured, and after a logo change,2 actauly.I'm certainly not an expert by any means, but I'll have to say someone down the road dyed the bag blue for whatever reason, perhaps to match a diffrent cleaner? The nag was then token off that cleaner when the cleaner was token into a vacuum repair shop-to be put on the vacuette?
Crazy story i've done thought up..But hey,I had the same thing happen to me,but with an Kirby Omega.

Here's a link to the thread-

I'm not sure about it originally having red paint as there is no trace of it on the bag (just gold is shown). Also, the vertical stripes are solid on this mystery bag whereas the vertical stripes on bags with red paint are dashed (on ones that I've seen). But, then again, if it did have red paint, it may have flaked off over time which would explain its absence.
