Anyone have one of these? I was reading the Kirby 2C manual online and they mention this as an optional accessory. It looks as if it replaces the motor driver brush head on the cleaner. Used for hard floors, maybe?
It would fit up to a 515 after that they moved the pin for the safety switch to the center, also it is beveled to fit into the fan chamber opening, after 515 the nozzle pressed up to the front of the fan chamber.
I'd guess the straight suction nozzle was dropped... my guess is some users would simply disconnect the belt and use the standard nozzle that way instead.
True, but suction would have been more concentrated with a narrower opening like this tool had. At the time of the 2C ALOT of the uprights out there were still straight suction and maybe some people preferred to clean their carpets that way.
With all the people going to hard surface floors It would be a good add on in todays market. The only down side is the misconception on how hard it is to change attachments on a Kirby. Also a more effective means of cleaning hard floors with the narrower opening. As opposed to the wide opening of the carpet nozzle or the hard surface tool on the end of the hose.
It would make sense that would stop making that considering they gave kind of an identical upholstery nozzle and all the other tools that fit on the end of a Kirby. Straight suction direct air machines are so cool though.
That straight suction floor nozzle head would be good for hard floors-esp if it has castle tooth cut brushes on the nozzle lips. With the popularity of hard floors today-think such a tool would be very useful for Kirbys in hard floor homes.
