Kirby 2C Fan Problem

Okay, so I got around to dismantling and cleaning out the motor and everything seems good. However, the fan is odd. On newer machines the shaft screws down on top of the fan, holding it into place. On the 2C the fan simply slides on the shaft, with nothing that I can see to prevent it from moving out of sync with the motor. Can anyone that has restored this model give me some insight?

As you can see there doesn't seem to be anything securing it firmly to the shaft.

I hope the threads on the armature are not sheared off, Please, say you see some treads on the end of the armature. Post more pictures without the fan on the armature.

The threads on the armature are on the very end of it only, the pulley shaft slides over it then threads down.

Does it have any bite to it, does it have about ten threads on the end of the armature pulley? Try oiling treads and turning counter clockwise, while applying firm pressure to secure fan on. Be careful not to cross thread.

Fan

I can tighten the pulley shaft down quite firmly, as tight as it can go but the fan still rotates around it. Its like something that held the fan in place is missing.

Take your fan off and spray some parts cleaner in the shaft of your fan.Make sure it is clean. If you can see, look if there are  some threads in the fan shaft. Make sure you spin the fan on the right way when you turn the fan on. Push and turn the fan to make sure the threads are making contact as you spin the fan.This should work. The threads on your armature and fan shaft must be in good shape.

Or try this

If that is not working than you need to put a small screw driver in by the cooling fan to hold the armature from spinning as you turn the fan on. I think there is an opening where you can slide a screw driver by the cooling fan. Please do not turn or force the fan on to hard. Stop if you need to so you will not bend the cooling fan. Do not force!
