One of my favorite and hard to find brands, Does anyone have any information on all the different machines they produced, I know they built a machine for the Hudson dept store, , as well as their own machines, one of which the Germitron, I have never even found a picture of, My favorite Saniway is another they built as well as Royals canister, but does anyone have any behind the scenes info???

On Kingston...

On my way back from Chicago a few years ago, I drove thru Bronson on US-12, as I-94 was a joke (backed up for MILES), and not too many people understand that US-12 while two lane, will get you the same place, but just adding an hour of time. I found the "factory" pretty easily, on the north west corner of town; and is still being used today manufacturing various product. I found no one ( and I was being very kind and unassuming) that was interested in affording me any information about the history of the plant, or the company really, and they weren't too keen on allowing me to be on the company grounds even. I was there all of maybe 20 minutes. I did eke out of one older guy that they did in fact, used to make vacuum cleaners, but they hadn't in "over 30 years", and he said they was called the "Douglas Sweeper"....(LOL.. and thats all he said before walking away from me, and saying "you best be gettin on there")... From what I amassed, the plant appeared to still owned by Berkshire-Hathaway , and may still be part of Scott-Fetzer. It really is a unremarkable edifice, very few clues are there; and the town in and of itself is rather ho-hum. I do wish you well in coming up with history about Kingston.
