I was told by a reliable source that the brown and cream X1's are mega rare. The story goes that before the X1 was launched in the UK in 1991, Justin Binks the CEO of Sebo UK went to germany in his Ford Cortina estate and filled it with the very first brand new brown and cream X1's, he then sold them as exclusives through Harrods here in London. By the time Sebo UK started importing them from germany properly, they had changed the colour scheme to grey.

The one i'm getting is from ebay germany, its a bit grubby as you can see and needs bit of TLC but i'm lucky to find one

I know I'm dredging up an old thread but

I found this on a google search trying to see if I could find out what years these we're being sold at Sears. I just found one at a thrift store myself and cleaned it up and replaced the filters and brush roll. If you want to get the parts Sebo USA actually carrys them (Sears would have to get them thru Sego anyway) and at much better prices. I don't have their number on me but it's on their website. I do know for a fact that they carry them and any Sebo dealer or probably you if you call them can get the parts even for the Kenmore branded machine. And just for fun here's a pic of it with my other automatic Sebos.

And since the models they have are doing great I don't see a need to make new ones. I love the automatic height adjustment, one of the more interesting things I've noticed is that it even changes the height when you go to a more matted down high traffic areas to get the nap pulled up. The other family members love it when I use them because they're so quiet. I really think they clean well too pet hair goes away fast and it seems to deep clean well too.

Just wondering, where did you find & acquire you Sebo Automatic X4 clear model?? That is supposed to be sold to dealers, in most cases, to be used as a selling tool when trying to show off the vacuum's components & what makes them different from the competition. I rather like it though! Has a very cool look to it & neat you can visually see everything working while you vacuum.

There is a company in the U.S where you can buy clear SEBO X4's (or so I am led to believe). SEBO in Germany aren't that happy about the plastic acrylic, otherwise they'd do one themselves. I enquired long ago about them as I'd have bought one in the UK by now. They're so cool looking, but then so are other uprights that have been made that way.

Id like to see a few improvements though in this range with a brush roll on/off switch and variable suction control slider like the smaller bagged Sebo Felix has. Perhaps that will happen one day.
