Pat, thanks for the kind comments on the old Town Car. It sucks, but now it rests in my brothers barn awaiting restoration/ repair as now He wants to keep our grandfathers old car.
I also stand corrected on may dates of Eureka/Wards production....Yes Eureka did make vacuum's for Wards longer than what I stated. Must be from the new leather smell of my "newer" 2000 Grand Marquis I ended up with.
Must agree tho...it was better in all stretches of the imagination that the old Towny got "banged up", rather than myself. It goes to show you that bigger cars "can" be safer. If that wasn't the case SUV's wouldn't exist, nor would the big rear drivers from Ford.
Andy, I must say that for the MANY years that I lurked at the Sears in Lansing Michigan which is one of the largest and one of the oldest in the country still in it's same location, I NEVER saw a Kenmore badged Eureka ever. While it's true that they sold Eurekas thru their "Brand Central" I never remember any of them with the Sears or Kenmore lable on them.
However, becasue you may have proof, I stand down. No one on here is smarter than the other. I simply stated that I never saw one, and from my experience, which I know to be very long and storied..I never saw this machine you speak of. I just think that the seller didn't know what he was selling.
Also, it was in the same colour scheme that Eureka used during the mid to late 1980's for their Wards built products. If it was truly badged either "Kenmore" or "Sears" in any way..I will hang my head in shame and admit I was wrong and stupid. As a grown person....I can admit that I'm wrong, and take the blame when my statements go sour.
So whomever won this "Eurekamore" please post pictures so I can rest knowing that I'm truly a idiot?
Chad
