Karcher CV 300 Brush Roll On Off Switch / Swivel Neck ?s

I purchased 2959ER (complete switch) and 2957 (lens cover) to enable the brush roll on/off feature. Since the Karcher CV 300 and Sebo Felix share the same circuit board (2684er), how is the Karcher bypassing this switch? In other words, why do I have to cut the W2 jumper for the Karcher, but I would not have to for the Felix? It's the same part. The only difference is the Felix comes with the brush roll on/off installed and the Karcher doesn't.

Worst case scenario is I would have to replace the board if I didn't need to cut the jumper. On another forum, I found a workaround where the user didn't use the plug on the switch part but just cut it off and hard wired it in. Worst case scenario is possibly having to buy the part again. My eyes aren't that great. I was hoping I could pop out the middle section of that plug (which I thought might act as a crimp to hold the end of the wires in place) and then slide the black and blue wires out without having to cut the plug off.

I have the switch and the lens cover placed correctly. Vacuum works, but switch doesn't yet because I need to do one of the two workarounds above. However, the button is mushy. It wouldn't work just by tapping it with your foot. It's a hard press. It's not like pressing a touchpad button at all. Is this the way it's supposed to work?

Now on to the good news.

I was able to replace the fixed neck with a swivel neck with part 2307. The fixed neck has two white wires and an extra green wire (ground?) and has three metal prongs (is the extra middle for strength only since the Karcher is sold as commercial?) going into the part that connects the floor head to the vacuum body. The Felix part has two white wires only. Pay attention to where the screws goes, but it was fairly easy to replace.

Thanks for any help you can provide. I don't really want to cut the jumper or wires to finish installing that brush roll on/off until I ask more questions. Plus, the button is really mushy. I'm not sure it's functioning correctly.

Update

I followed Reddit user Javi_Lacking's instructions for wiring brush roll on/off switch part inline. It works. I don't see detailed stuff that great (even though the user provided a clear photo), so it was a bit like taking a leap of faith. If I don't want this feature later, I can just remove the part and put the white wire back where it was originally. The mushy feeling button threw me off, but I can see where it goes up or down like it's supposed to. It isn't like the press buttons that I am used to on other electronic devices.

Thanks to user Ho Lee Fuk's video and pictures, I felt comfortable taking the ET-1 head apart and replacing the fixed neck with a swivel neck.

LOL. I have no training but I can google and follow a good set of instructions with photos.

In the end I paid the same amount (cost of on/off brush roll parts, swivel neck, clip w/ tool) for the I would have for the Dart, but my Karcher also has the swivel neck feature. I personally like the gray/yellow combination, and the bright yellow cord is easier for me to see. The longer cord found on commercial models means I can plug in to a central location and vacuum anywhere needed in my small home.

I have the feeling this Karcher will last me so much longer than any other vacuum because even *I* can replace almost any part with detailed instructions that include photos. Dust bunnies don't stand a chance now, and already I am breathing easier by replacing bagless vacuums with their messy/dusty bins and dust-spewing vacuums that have lost their seal.

My one suggestion to Sebo is to offer more dust filter designs for replacements. I've seen in some areas where you can get some with flowers and stuff on them. It would make them more appealing to people who value fashion over function. My first thing my kids said is the vacuum looks old (dated).
