So it’s been like 4 months I haven’t got any new vacuums for my collection because I’ve been saving a lot of money but last Friday I donated 4 vacuums I don’t use anymore. I got rid my Shark 3 in 1 multivac, Eurekas Power Plus and Airspeed One, and a Dirt Devil Power Stick with wedge edge because the suction was weak and it started falling apart a bit. So I want to make room for nicer vacuums! So y’all will be amazed on what I got. I brought this on eBay last Thursday and I couldn’t pass it up at all.

This is a Hoover Convertible 1020 made around 1969 to 1971. I’ve always wanted one of these when I first saw it on a video that used to be on YouTube back in 2007. I was amazed that this vacuum was featured on the Brady Bunch where the housekeeper Alice Nelson uses. It’s in pretty good shape all it needs is a good clean up!

Well I tested out the Convertible and it needs a new belt because I noticed it’s lose and the odd thing is the on off switch. When I plug it in and the switch is set on off the vacuum turns on. Anybody had that problem before? But the vacuum sounds really good.

Definitely not original but better than no plug!

I notice the Hoover Convertible seems to have a small bag ,smaller than Kirby anyway do you empty it often?

convertible switches are always like that. up is off, down is on.

bnsd60m9200, I know that but the problem is that when the switch is set up for OFF and when I plug it in the vacuum turns on by itself.

I always wondered why MIKE BRADY, that successful architect w/ that big house, didn't at least get a cleaner w/ a zipper bag, handle grip, light and full bumper for poor Alice. Poor Alice had to seek comfort with SAM, the butcher. hmmmmmmmmmmm
