i decided to take full advantage of the scaffolding and clean the roof which was covered in green moss and other crap that was constantly sliding down and blocking the guttering .After lots of scrapping and two days fresh air blowing on it i was left with lots of loose debris and dust i tried to sweep it away but could not reach far enough as i dont have a cat ladder so i came up with this

i tried to blow it off first but it was going everywhere so i changed to suck and filled a bag in about 5 mins so i just did away with the bag if you look carefully you can see where i have cleaned the kirby just blasted all the dirt into a bucket ready to empty into the bin

Hi Antony, Looks like you cleaned the roof well. Hope your going to shampoo it as well. If a jobs worth doing......;o)

I congratulate you, sir, on your ingenuity and sense of opportunism.
On the subject of 'A first for a Kirby' I would say that's probably a 'Yes'.
Perhaps you would like to contact the manufacturers, they may like to include your work in future publicity. Possibly along the lines of "Takes cleaning the house 'top to bottom' to a whole new level"?? ;-)

done the other side today i used about 6 wands from various machines and a long hose from a henry the whole lot giving about a 40 foot reach .just finished giving the machine a good clean it has now morphed back into a vacuum cleaner .i have also had another unexpected goodie come my way today .I live in Leeds and today was driving through a district heavily populated with student acomodation i found the heritage sticking out of a hedge i grabbed it and threw it in the car and drove off before anyone could chalenge me it was wet [it rained last night ]so i am going to strip it and give it a good clean

Well its a first to see a Kirby being used on a roof - I use one of my spare Felix ET-1 heads & my old Felix to suck up gravel and soil after it has laid dry after a day of pressure washing the weeds out. So much easier than brushing all that sand up and then it goes all over the place again. Having the disposable synthetic dust bag in the Felix means it can last for about two to three empties before the pores are eventually wrecked and all i do is carry the bag to one part of the garden and dump the soil out. Waste not want not. Hell of a lot faster too!

I tried that once with a leaf vacuum/blower. I was getting tired of the blower's bag clogging and me constantly having to empty it, so I tried attaching a hose to the trash can. Only problem was the blower wasn't strong enough to suck up the leaves and blow them through the hose into the can. Maybe try my kirby next time????(Not really)
