Nice!

Is there any difference other than color and branding between this and the Dirt Devil 08130? It looks remarkably similar to the two-speed 08130 I picked up at a thrift shop yesterday. It came with a hose and hose adapter. I believe that the hose plug in the front is from a different model - is this the correct one for the 08130?

This vac got a clean and lube last night, and is now being assessed for use on stairs, upholstery, cars and as a small shop vac on a mechanical/computer workbench. A set of fine accessories is coming off my 3D printer for the latter use. One of the photos shows a printed small wand and crevice tool.

Dirt Devil 08130 molded bag adapter, anemic airflow

As you said, the bag adapter is molded right into the casing. Does using a throw-away bag in a vac originally designed for dump-out severely limit the suction? I don't have the equipment to measure flow.

The suction is not overwhelming, even with the belt off. I've cleaned and lubed the motor and brushroll bushings, and cleaned the fan. Everything spins well and there are no nasty sounds.

The bag I'm using is not the correct one, but I don't think this is killing the suction. I'm a fan of throw-away bags, preferring latex-sealed HEPA when possible. I'm now using a Frankenfolded EnviroCare bag intended for an Electrolux cannister. The cardboard is slightly loose on the red plastic, but the latex seal is good. The way it's folded, there's actually more effective filter area.

So I believe the vac/bag combination are giving all the airflow that the lightweight 2A motor will give.

The cord is 20', a bit on the short side for stairs and cars.

Any recommendations for a beefier hand vac that works with a hose and throw-away bags, and has a longer cord?

More pics of it.

As far as I know, the bags don’t limit airflow. I just tested hose suction with both my 103 (No paper Bag) and my 533 (Paper Bag. Dirt Devil Type G) and the suction was pretty much the same. Try the correct bag type (Dirt Devil Type G Bags) to see if it helps with the suction. If I were to recommend a better vacuum, I think it’d have to be the later Black and Red Dirt Devil Plus 08100 Hand Vac because those have a higher amperage motor.
