Dirt Devil 08130 molded bag adapter, anemic airflow
As you said, the bag adapter is molded right into the casing. Does using a throw-away bag in a vac originally designed for dump-out severely limit the suction? I don't have the equipment to measure flow.
The suction is not overwhelming, even with the belt off. I've cleaned and lubed the motor and brushroll bushings, and cleaned the fan. Everything spins well and there are no nasty sounds.
The bag I'm using is not the correct one, but I don't think this is killing the suction. I'm a fan of throw-away bags, preferring latex-sealed HEPA when possible. I'm now using a Frankenfolded EnviroCare bag intended for an Electrolux cannister. The cardboard is slightly loose on the red plastic, but the latex seal is good. The way it's folded, there's actually more effective filter area.
So I believe the vac/bag combination are giving all the airflow that the lightweight 2A motor will give.
The cord is 20', a bit on the short side for stairs and cars.
Any recommendations for a beefier hand vac that works with a hose and throw-away bags, and has a longer cord?
