After talking to a friend in the know, and who has seen the new machine, here are the changes, the machine is about the same except.."FINALLY!!" the water pan is LIGHTED by two led lights, machine is now black, the big changes are in the powerhead, the air channells are larger to reduce clogging at the belt, the biggest things are, now it uses a short flexible hose instead of the elbow, and now the neck swivels side to side as well as up and down, it has brushed edge cleaning, small rotating brushes on each end of the powerhead, and no more wires, everything is direct connect, also the power head has a foot pedal disconnect, machine is supposed to be much quieter...oh yes, the power head now has a headlight!!Also a new bare floor scrubber attachment to go with the Aqua mate.

Thanks for the information Hans, I had heard that there was a new model coming out with a great new power nozzle.   I too would love to see one.  I hope that Ken Bashford comes to the convention this year.

Interesting news.  I haven't had a Rainbow since I sold my D2 about 25 years ago, and lately I've been having a hankering for one again.  Any word on when the new one will be available?

Just a guess-the new Rainbow maybe introduced to the main market anytime now.Bet when the supplies of the older E2 ones are gone-the new model described may be shipped out to dealers.

Info on the new Rainbow!

Hans,
I bet you got your info from the same vac guy! He always knows when a new machine is on the horizon and is correct. I wasn't going to post the information until the machine was on the market but I have one on order.
Besides the new designs,it is to have led lighting on the power nozzle, new wand system and hose handle design. The dolly will be changed and should have a longer hose. We will have to wait and see the new product when it is introducted to the market. It is always exciting to see an old company bring out a new machine with valid improvements. I wonder if the color change is in honor of the 75th Anniversary (1936-20011) to match the old black model "B"?
I will send you an email.

I love my D4s

I have one of the first D4,s and a D4SE PE, take a licking and keep on ticking.

I don't know what it is about the Rainbow, but you can vacuum with as many different machines as you want, and the Rainbow pulls the fine silt out of the carpet like nothing else will.

Yes. I have one and love it. I also hate it at times.

I hope the new PN will work with my E2 2 speed. But if it's direct connect.....I doubt it will.

New Rainbow

I love my Rainbow SE PE and am excited with the new changes coming on the updated Rainbow. The power nozzle needed reworked in my opinion. I also have a Rainbow E Series, but like the SE PE better.
