I undrstand how you feel Ken

I bought a Kirby Ultimate G Diamond Edition just before Christmas, and the seller did a horrible job packaging it up. There was no packaging material in the box at all. I got lucky though, because it only suffered a few more scratches in shipping. Still upset me because I paid good money for the machine and shipping, that they couldn't do a better job packing.

Does the motor still run ok? If it does drop me an email tomorrow and I'll go through my stuff and see if I have a descent body I can send you. Just the body should be fairly cheap to send as its light.

Hans, that is such a shame. Dang it! Luckily, I have only had one bad shipping experience where something was damaged, and the EBay seller was very nice and helpful. In MY case it was the Post Office that gave me the run-around to the point I just gave up.

Hopefully, you can get this resolved in one way or another!

Damaged Vacuum's

I have had two vacuum's damaged in shipping. One was my Vintage Eureka Golden Anniversary Model 260, the back wheel was broken and I had to replace. The other was suprisingly a Kirby G5 rebuilt by Kirby and sent back to me. When I opened the box the back wheel hub caps had popped off and one of the back wheels was lopsided. I called Kirby and they suggested I send it back, but I opted for them sending me two new replacement wheels and hub caps, which I put on myself. It actually fixed the problem or I would have had to send it back for a rear wheel axel replacement.


 


This is truly a problem specifically for vintage machines......They only packed my 260 in newspaper....Not satisfactory.


 


Just as a note, I have also bought new in the box from Vacuum Stores online and even that box sometimes comes with a hole in it. The two Sebo's I bought recently, were actually double boxed from Sebo, they evidently know how the shipping carriers are.
