Suppose for whatever reason you could only keep one of your vintage vacuums, what one would you keep ?

For me, it would have to be my 1982 Electrolux 502S.

"Electrolux!?" I hear you say. Yes, I am a Hoover fan, BUT, if I had to choose one vintage Vacuum Cleaner, it would have to be that for the reason it not only grooms the carpet almost as well as a Hoover, but has great hose suction too, something the vintage Hoovers lacked.

And here she is...

There isn't a better choice than that Ryan, however my only Henry (really should buy him a brother sometime...) is only 5 years old so not vintage.

well, with the powerhead it really does do a good job allround, so if he was going to be my only vac, he would be the most practical

That's a tough one! I have several vintage ones I love and wouldn't want to part with EVER! If I had to pick one, I guess I would keep my Commemorative Editon Electrolux, but I'm awfully fond of my Hoover Model 300 too so that would be a difficult decision to have to make! When my basement flooded back in the spring and ruined many of my vintage vacs, I had to throw out a 725 Hoover....you talk about seeing a grown man cry.......that one hurt me to the core! I have hunted high and low ever since for one, and haven't been very successful. If I could get my hands on another 725, that would be the one I would probably keep! Hopefully I never have to be in that situation where I would only be able to keep one though!

Steve, I can't begin to imagine the grief you would have felt over losing such a vintage Hoover... Surely the water didn't make it a complete write off though ? Couldn't you have fixed it up ?

So far the only vintage I have is my Eureka 1784B. I love it, and its not for sale, and nothing better happen to it. I am hoping to find a powerteam canister and upright vintage Hoover soon. When I do that it'll be a bigger fight over which vintage I could absolutely not give up. It'll definitely be a canister. I like uprights but canisters are by far my favorite. My parents had a Hoover Celebrity II Elite while I was growing up. I used it for vacuuming the cars. I never got to use it with its original power head. I did use a couple times with Hoover Dimension 1000 Quadraflex PowerMatic but I was too young to know and remember much. Its probably been about 22 years now.

Hard To Pick Just One!

Possibly one of my Electro-Hygiene 903's (I have 3 0f them). An all-round great vacuum cleaner--powerful, durable, maneuverable, grooms carpets well, and great suction with attachments. Couldn't ask for more! This one is frequently the daily driver at our house.

I would have to chose the Kirby Classic Omega.
Has excellent suction and grooms the carpet beautifully (4 row brush roll), has a HEPA bag system (Mini Emptor with a Hertige 2 outer bag, and G series fill tube, i use the G 4,5 bags), Rug Renovator System, Bare Floor/Miracle Head System, Handi Butler, knife sharpner, hand tools, buffing wheels, ect. I can polish my car, motorcycle, boots, anything with it.
Has excellent tool suction, and a wide varity of hose attachments for easy cleaning. Even has a little brush on the end of the crevice tool!
Plus i love the dark brown "Rosewood" color of the trim and handle of the Kirby.
The other plus is the Lifetime Factory Rebuild agreement.
Can send the machine in for Factory Rebuilding anytime, and as often as i wish, as long as i live, and the Factory cant ever charge me more than 49.95 for any one rebuild.
I'll take that deal any day!

Good Choice, Brian!

And the one Kirby in my collection that I would choose would be my Classic III. Most complete Kirby in my collection, and with the Legend II conversion kit, the only one I have that uses disposable bags.
