My good friend who runs a thrift store in our small town always keeps an eye out for me for Rainbows. Another one came through today and it looks like a Rainbow D3C. She said it appears to work and it has the original power nozzle. It's missing the dolly but I have an extra one of those here at my house. Would you all take it? Here is a picture of the actual machine...

I'd take it... I always am looking for a cheap Rainbow. One of the few vacuums I've not personally used.

I would take it, BUT make sure you take it into a Rainbow service centre & have the motor overhauled. A Rainbow that age would most certainly need new motor bearings & carbon brushes installed in the motor, & is highly likely to have lots of calcium & dirt deposits from being used with water for all those years. Plus Rainbow vacuums don't handle abuse as much as some other brands, & in this case you don't know what the previous owners treated this vacuum like, & if they actually used & maintained the vacuum properly or if they abused it.

I sell the newest Rainbow. I've tried a couple of the older models but not this one. I haven't had the opportunity to try this power nozzle yet on any model. For $20 it's a very interesting buy for someone!!
