When I look at the actual pictures in the Ebay auction there is an owners manual included for the Jubilee Vacuum and the picture of the hose on the cover of that Jubilee Vacuum manual looks just like the hoses that go with the vacuum. That Jubilee owners manual is not the same owners manual Kyle is showing with a different hose. So obviously there was a chnage in hoses somewhere before or during when they started selling them.
As for the demother.. well if that's not part of the vacuum set then it's just something the owner thinks might be part of it and is including it.. It does not make the Jubilee he's selling not a Jubilee. I could sell a NIB Singer Sewing machine I know nothing about and throw in a demother thinking it went with it.. It would still be a NIB Singer Sewing machine

Here is a pic of the manual that goes with the Golden Jubilee on ebay, you can clearly see that the pattern of the hose is the same as the one that comes with the vacuum. You can also see that it has the direct connect hose too, so that is the correct hose for this model.
It is clearly a 5oth anniversary Golden Jubilee model, look at the decals on the canister and PN.

My great aunt had and probably still has a golden jubilee that was in mint condition with the original hose and it is a hose like what is shown on ebay, she never had anything replaced on it and it was very well cared for. She also has an olympia one which replaced a model G and there were still accessories for the G floating around the house well after it was gone. So most likley this lux was from an estate where the owner was a loyal repeat lux customer and had unused lux accessories that the person selling this unit believes belongs with it, remember not every one knows alot about vacuums.

That is a Golden Jubilee!!!!

Ok! That machine is a Golden Jubliee from 1975! It is correct in every detail from the power nozzle to the hose to the attachments and sheath. Yes the gray box on the side maybe not be original but who cares. Electrolux only made TWO Jubilee models.......The Golden Jubliee in 1974-1975 and the Diamond Jubliee from 1984-1987. That machine is perfect in every way. The Golden Jubilee power nozzle was chrome with the 50th anniv seal on it just like in the picture. I am 100% sure on all these facts. And a golden jubliee hose is about as rare as a Hoover Windtunnel! I've thrown more away then I can even count. Also, to back myself up I even asked Cecilia who has been selling Electrolux's new since 1952 and she stated that the machine was correct in every detail. And I assure you she would know. She was at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel when the machine was introducted and was given a 50th anniversary metal that everyone had to wear during the convention so I'm sure she would know. Also below is a history chart from Aerus with machine models and dates. While not complete by any standards it does show the main models and the years which they were produced.

No mention or claim that the vacuum & accessories have not been unboxed nor that it is NIB complete. The non-collector seller, who is an employee of a Store franchise which is part of a worldwide network of independently owned and operated businesses operating under the iSold It brand name selling for a third party, merely states firmly that he believes it has not been used. We know better of course.

We also know well enough that the gray caddy contains non-Electrolux items. As for this de-mother, you insert it at the end of a hose or wand in the exhaust stream, not the exhaust port. I'm sure we're all familiar with the XXX/LX/E/AE/G etc style de-mother that does connect directly to the Lux Exhaust port providing a second port for connecting the hose if one wishes..

I see no instructions about this style of demother or how to set up the pigtail connection but then, as already pointed out, the manual you refer to is presumably the first issue, not the ones subsequent to the hose change.

Simple to do a screen capture of an Adobe page. Tap Print Screen key which copies the screen to Clipboard storage, then paste in photo editor of choice, edit and re-size and post as a jpeg.

Can anyone else confirm that it is an Electrolux issue De-mother tube? I have several of this smooth narrow chrome type for different makes of vacuum hoses but I stand by to be corrected if Electrolux re-issued it for use with the 1205...

Sorry........the chemo is getting to me. Evan in the instruction manual picture I believe they have a non electric hose attached to the machine and as most of us know sometimes manual pictures aren't always reliable.

I sold Electrolux at the transition period from Golden J to Super J. They were basically the same machine except for the more powerful suction motor. In fact, the Super J is one-half inch longer then the Golden J to accommodate the new motor. Otherwise it's the "same machine". I've included a scan of the "Electrolux News" that I kept from those days of selling 'Lux. You can see in the pictures that the hoses are the same - whether attached to the Golden J or the Super J. Perhaps your source is correct about early hoses and connections, but as has been mentioned earlier in this and the other thread, as parts inventories are depleted, newer, or different parts become available, and are included with later shipments. I only remember the direct connect hose. Those are what I sold. Just a word of caution: One should evaluate ALL possibilities before shouting "I told you so".

Agreed, and since I have perfected the art of liquid latex impregnating leaking but cosmetically decent hoses I may have the suckiest collection of usable vintage hoses around. LOL

Yes Pete, that is the first hose the Golden Jubilee model 1205 came with, The direct connect style was introduced late in the run of blue 1205s with a simple metal handle with a suction adjustment ring near the tip. In Terry's thread 5786 about the Olympic One my blue late style 1205 with this same hose makes an appearance.

We have now established that the Pistol Grip hose made its debut during the early days of the Golden Jubilee and was also made available in blue as a replacement hose for previous models.


Canadian Electrolux's had a differently engineered electric - and non - hose, trigger grip and connection blades setup for the AP series and similarly made those new hoses in colors to match many models, including the 80 series in tan/white when the green and red braid strips ran out.

As I said, my late posting of this picture (from Doug's site) sort of diluted it's impact and relevancy in the discussion. It does show that all hoses exist in their timer and place.

It really is true what they say. You can learn something new everyday. I learned there were different versions of the Golden J just as there were different versions of the 1205.

So, from looking at the pix in this thread, it appears there are two versions of the hose, two versions of the power nozzle and three versions of the owner's manuals.

Yes! And like Fred stated earlier, virtually all vacuum manufacturers had a continuum or stream of parts and/or accessories and the manuals surely did not keep up with them!

...but folks...remember...the last time we all sqawked about how outrageous a price someone paid for something -- they joined the site! Myself, I was kinda embarrassed.

Again, many reasons why someone would pay such a price. And let's put some of this in a particular perspective. If Stan Kann's collection would go for something along the lines of $1,000.00 per vac, we'd be cheering with joy.

We decry various vacs going to dumpsters and crushers, at the hands of people who don't share the same sentiments we do. Yet when an eBay bidder does share those sentiments in some form or other, and backs it up with their billfold -- we question their sanity.

Sort of a double standard don't you think? People would look in my "showroom" and say "what a bunch of junk." But to me, they're history, they're unique, they're fun, they resonate something good in me.
