About a year ago, I bought a 1970s vintage chrome Sunbeam Mixmaster because my girlfriend likes to bake and all I had was this crappy handheld that my ex had left behind. It's served us well but was missing some accessories, so earlier this week, I found an absolutely new looking chrome Mixmaster Vista with a brown base for $5.50 at a thrift store. It has the pieces we were missing from the other one, but this one has no bowls.

Today, she comes home from the church rummage sale and says she has a surprise for me--a 1989 vintage Mixmaster "American Classic" in almond, complete with the manual, all it's accessories and glass bowls. Now we have three, plus the aforementioned crappy blue Farberware handheld and the Kitchenaid that's at her place. Yes, I do believe we have a collection going--or maybe she does.

One question. Is it possible to replace the latch on a Mixmaster base? The reason I ask is I've got a chrome metal base that came with the first Mixmaster I got, but the little latch at the top is broken. I'm using that mixer with a white plastic base I got on eBay. It works fine and looks okay, but I'd love to be able to use the original chrome base with it.

Mixer collection

I have several mixers in my collection....

Soundcraft Series 2 24ch

Alice/Soundtech 8ch

Fostex 350 8ch

Behringer 3282 28ch

I also have the remains of a (dismantled) vintage Midas 10ch and a Hill 24ch

Oh!! Sorry!! Wrong kind of 'mixers'... ;)

All best

P.S. I have a friend with a 'Belle' concrete mixer...... :-)

Mixers

I collected mixers for years. Last year when I downsized I gave them all to Goodwill.BUT, slowly they are returning......

I bought a harvest gold Sunbeam from around 1976 today at Goodwill. It has no bowls, but I have extra. I bought it for the beaters, the cord and the turntable. I only paid $5 for this, and if I were to order all the parts, it would have been a lot more.

I grew up with Sunbeam products, have sold them so I have a soft spot for them.
Plus, I have worked in catering for part of my life. used them all.......
