Powder Blue Mac.........

Thanks Mike, I only now remember that colour, I hope to restore my Sunbeam Mixmaster De-luxe during the forthcoming summer(if we have one !!!) which was originally that very shade of 'powder blue'. Only last night I was only speaking to a friend who was in the cleaner/washer trade and he told me that the MD of Mcdonald who was in the Birmingham area at the time on some kind of initial sale drive actually demostrated the clnr to my friend and this resulted in an agency being set up in Sutton Coldfield. Apparently the clnr had a good brush roller and performed well, but no tools. It disappeared when Goblin bought the company @ 1977 ?

What wattage was it ?

Love the Swallow ever since I saw it on your photo album, Mike. :)

Very elegant design in my opinion, almost looks like it was sculpted..or grown, rather than designed. That lil Cylinder by Hotpoint looked good too, All I remember seeing was a yellow Hotpoint light and easy from the same era, always remember thinking how odd it was seeing that I only knew Hotpoint for their washers.

Now, the $64,000.00 question is which came first, the MacDonald Electric or the Oreck CVR-4000? Which machine inspired which? I'm guessing the Oreck, since its predecessor was the Whirlpool CVR-2000 (which I am now very fortunate to own thanks to Marc Turbyfill). Those were made here in the States.
