Oh, I don't own one.. I just cut/pasted a review from Amazon. When I read this thread it made me wonder if HEPA bags were available for these...that's when I started reading amazon reviews...and when I read that review, that pretty much is what I experienced with any paper bag too. But I believe you...

I think part of the problem with some vacuums is the way the bags fit the collar (maybe too loosely) and it's not that the bags aren't filtering well...but the way they fit the collar... I had a Kenmore canister and it drove me crazy because no matter how good of a bag I would use, it would leak dust from the collar (not the bag)

The bag leaking around the collar has been a problem ever since bags were invented. That's one reason why a proper bag will be a bear to get onto the tube, and why Kirby bags have an entire locking system to keep them strapped on, and why Electrolux puts a rubber gasket around the inside of the bag. It's just a fact of the matter. Same as when you have an old car the engine bay will get oily and dirty as you drive it, it's just a consequence of parts tolerances and use.

If one was bothered enough, one could take foam sheets, cut to fit the fill tube and the shape of the bag collar, put them between the vacuum chassis and the bag, and it should create enough of a seal to stop the blow-back.

It's possible that maybe Febreze improved their bags better nowadays than the ones that I've used a while ago because they definitely leaked on me ALOT and they were fitted on correctly.
