Oh Im SOOOOOOO exited.... I just found a Compact at a thrift store today! Its beautiful... It has all the attachments, and is still in the original hassack! I cant post pictures as it is still in my car and it reeks of cigarettes so I am going to clean it up tomorrow. Its a baby blue, sort of teal color. Has the original hose, too! When I get it out of my car ill take some pictures. Any idea what model this is, at year its from...? Anything is appreciated.

Would need the model from the bottom of it and serial number under the latch to give you a good date of manufacture.

Congrats! Compacts are one of my top favorite brands of all time.

Smells like cigarettes so Im going to clean it up tomorrow.

PS, is it okay to put febreeze in the hassock? Like I said, it REEKS of cigarettes.

VW

Ok.

Yep Thats what Febreeze is for. :)

I dont know how effective it would be, but try taking a pan or cup of baking soda and placing it in the hassock, and even inside the bag chamber of the vacuum. Might neutralize some of the smell.

Alright, so I found out it's a model C6. Has all the attachments! I think its interesting how it has the "air concentrator" on the top of the rug nozzle, didnt Electrolux come up with that idea?

It still these stickers from the factory on the side, and on the bottom. I didnt take a close enough look to see what it saud, but I do know that the bottom said "Compact is on the BALL"

Any idea of the age?

Early to mid

Sixties, I believe the C-6 came out in 63 or 64, I have a 57 flatlid c-4 and a 60 c-4 with the regular lid, the c-5 with one caster came out in late 60.

The C6 was made in many different variations over several years. Early to mid 60s.

A serial number is needed to find the year and month of manufacture.

Carpet nozzle an hard floor brush! Interesting- on the top of the carpet nozzle theres one of thise "air concentrators". I thought that was Electrolux's idea...?

What does the hassock look like? Is it off-white with a glittery gold floral pattern?

I have one exactly like yours that I found at a thrift shop also, with the hassock as described above.

Yep, it is! :) Off-white with a gold floral pattern. Makes a nice foot rest. WHILE NOT WEARING SHOES AND WEARING THOSE LITTLE PLATIC BOOTIES!

On another note, it came with a Hoover sales receipt and what I believe to be a Convertible 66 manual.

Oh, cool!

Looking at your pics again mine is a little different. Mine doesn't have the yellow logo under the Compact logo. Instead it has an "xx year anniversary" decal on the side. The warranty card that came with it is dated 1966.

Congrats on your find!

Alex
