Parts bought.

I have bought a front bearing, Genuine brushroll with a magnet, fan, brand new bag, and a fill tube.

Everything I will need to completely restore this Kirby.

Now that I think about it, hopefully the carbon brushes are ok...

Update!

I received my front bearing, impeller, brushroll, and bag.

Now i'm waiting on my fill tube

Really?

Are these vacuums rare or so? I have one and thought it was a generation 3 for some reason .. Anyway, I got mine at a thrift shop for $25 it did need wheel barrings.

not in the slightest bit!

Heritage II' s are very common, especially on eBay! Apparently not very common near Tase, though. I saw 4 in a Week when I found my brand new Heritage II! They're usually only considered rare in the event they have a cloth dump bag or smaller 13' head (my new one came with the small head!).

Cleaning Bag

Tase, do you have any tips on cleaning the bag? I have the dump bag also, is it washable on like a soak setting or somewhere's on those lines? Mine is like yours was, very filthy!

Do you have a bathroom tub or laundry room sink?

If so, fill it up with lukewarm water and put Woolite in it. Fill the bag up with water, pour it out. Do this until your entire tub or sink is completely filled with brown water. Refill and do until you have fairly clean water coming out.

I have cleaned most of my disposable bag system bags in the washer on Warm/Cold with either Woolie or Gain. But my shakeout bags ALWAYS are done in a tub with Woolite.

To dry them, put them on the coolest setting in your dryer, or better yet, air dry them.

Sometimes, if a shakeout bag is really that bad, I will flip it inside out and vacuum it with a crappy vacuum like a Dyson's hose or a Dirt Devil/Royal handvac. But washing the bag will allow all the dirt inside the fabric to be cleaned.

I just take mine off the emtor, turn them inside out and bang the dust out. Vacuum the bag then throw it in the washing machine. I'll add little lysol sometimes to disinfect if the bag smells really bad. Then low or no heat in the dryer. After it's completely dry I'll put it back on the emtor.

If it's a pocket bag just make sure you take your snacks out of the pocket before you wash it.

The Classic III plaid bags come out nice and soft and white on the inside.

If it's a G series I usually throw the bag and emtor along with a towel in the washer and then just hang it out to dry.

I finished James a while ago but I'm just getting around to posting the pictures!

Here's James before I finished polishing him up. I had however, put him back together at this point.
