How to maintain a motor: Seeking tutorials and know how.

Finally stepping it up and looking to get inside my motors to maintain them. Most notably, I have a Tristar CXL that has a squeaky motor. You can hear it as the motor slows down when shut off. One of the members here suggested it may be the brushes. Also, I'm looking to maintain the motor on my Felix, which was well used when I got it.

So are there any tutorials specific to vacuum motors that are helpful? I'll look on You Tube, of course. Any information that you have about methods, things to do and consider, and suppliers for parts is most appreciated.

Motor designs these days are pretty generic, so learning to maintain them is simple enough, just take a few apart and have a look round and you should pick it up relatively easily, it's the bearing replacement that can be somewhat fun...

And I think it was me that said that your carbon brushes are squeaking, and that it's not really a problem as most brushed motors do it to an extent...
