How old is this Henry

Found this Henry at Goodwill yesterday for $10, got it home and started cleaning it up. The foam in the exhaust and the foam over the top of the motor had just rotted. The Vacuum had a musty smell, cleaned everything with a dilute solution of bleach and soap and water. It only had the hose and wand handle with it. I just happen to have 3 Numatic paper bags that I picked up at Goodwill a couple of years ago, so that worked out well.

Getting into the motor it sounded like the bearings were going bad. Taking the motor apart it was just the lower bearing that needed to be replaced. The upper bearing was just fine.

Trying to figure out the age of this Henry, the tag has

If you decide Henry doesn't get along well with your other vacuums, I would be happy to take a drive South and adopt him.  Tell him I even have a power nozzle and hose cord that will compliment him nicely.

That's very old, one of the first with no cordwinder and original hose connector.

Around 30 years old.

Ran Henry for a while on Tuesday and when I went to shut him down heard a little bearing noise so replaced the upper bearing.

Wednesday Henry was feeling better and ate a whole bunch of stuff, now when he farts is smells like Gardenia.

Today I got a new 10 pack of Numatic NVM1C/2 bags for $10 so Henry will be well stocked when he fills his tummy.

Here in Chicago he may be from another country but Chicago will still let him vote, we even have people who list a grave site as an address that still vote.

That's true.  Republicans, desperate to find voters, have been known to register micky mouse, dead people, corporations, and people who don't exist.  I guess Henry, with his bright smiling face, and full, fragrant tummy will fit right in.

Sorry for reviving an old thread.

I haven't really checked the vintage category in a while.Thats a very old Henry.Its one of the first ones,I dont know how it ended up in the US.For $10,that's a steal. In England,the model number for this Henry would be HVC200.The NV200 was an identical
vacuum but it had a longer cable and a better motor and said Numatic on it instead of Henry.The Henries of the US always have a different model to ours,I think its to differentiate.The US Henries also have 38MM tool-kits.Our Henries have residential 32MM tool-kits.I will attach pics of a very early all red NV200 because that was the first gen of NV.The second pic will be of an 2nd gen NV200 with the black top and the 3rd pic is off a normal Henry HVC.

I hate it when Henry's are refered to as people!
They are reliable vacuum cleaners with a fetching charismatic appearance.

The specific age terminology "very old;very,very,very old" has always intrigued me:


 


  When a person younger than 25 uses that common phrase, it basically means something older than 5 years.  


  


  When a person over the age of 70 uses it, it typically means (as it should) something several CENTURIES in age.


 


  However,  when a 26-64 year old person uses it- meanings are all over the map.


 


 


 


Alex- I was hoping on getting a Henry to ..... to have someone to talk to, like a pet.  I was even hoping to dress Henry in dapper stick-on clothing items.  Like  a Mr. Potato head.  


Surely you don't see a problems with this, do you?
