Hey guys I just wanted to ask, how do you access vacuum land? I'm asking because in this digital age, I know that many of us use iPhones, iPads, desktops, and/or laptops as a daily device and not to add fire to fire, but a good amount of us are either making grammatical mistakes or text lingo on here! To be honest though, I'm just asking because of my interest with what people use in their homes! I actually use an iPhone, iPad or my laptop! Anyway, answer away!

I use all of the above!

My I-Phone, I-Pad, I-Mac and here at work I use a PC. Prior to my I-Phone I used a smart phone.

Grammatical issues don't concern me at all. I realize many of use are typing on the fly or using devices that are not as easy to type on. I don't have time to spell check when I am at work, my phone will make corrections that I miss, and spell check will often change words.

Text type comments are not offensive. Again, knowing that many of us are using portable devices and running on the fly.

As long as what is being posted is understandable and not being mean spirited...I am fine with it.

Well, I post using my old Dell Pentium 4 desktop, which unfortunately is getting too outdated & a pain to use :( . Or, if I am on the go, I'll use my new ASUS Core i7 quad-core laptop....best $900 bucks I ever spent! Not a fan of using tablets or smartphones at all....those touchscreens would get REALLY annoying after a couple of months.

I use my Mac Mini desk-top and log in through Firefox. When I misspell something on this forum it is underlined, but I don't know how to fix it when that happens. I freely admit that I am not a great speller, my grammer is sometimes off and since my heart problems started I get muddled and have trouble saying (or typing) what I mean to say.
I guess that's TMI (Too Much Information), if so... I'm sorry.

Thanks for sharing and it makes my point even more valid.

Some folks here are far to critical and think they have to parent everyone and everything that happens here. Every situation is different. In your case a medical condition may prevent you from normal activities. For me, I would much rather read one or two lines of text and move forward. Some of what is written is page after page...get to point...tell the story and move on. I don't have time to read a book.

Unless something is totally disrespectful or breaks the forum guidelines, myself and the board are not going to complain. We all need to be respectful of everyone who posts on Vacuumland. Adults as well as children, members as well as visitors to this site.

As Terry Lattz would say "why is it so hard to read something and move on, why does everyone think they need to comment on everything, why is spelling, sentence structure such a big deal...I retired from teaching and I am not grading papers anymore!" "Why is it so hard to let others have a conversation that is different from ours, read it move on" If Terry told me this once he told me a hundred times...

Perhaps because I work with the public, I see all types of problems everyday, the small stuff is not going to get me down. I live my life as I think I would want to be treated by others...I wish we could all do the same and stop being to judgmental.

Desk Top / IPad

If I have time and I'm at home I still like my desk top best but sometimes take a quick look on my IPad, I'm dyslexic and my desk top makes it easy for me to check spelling ect. I dont often use my laptop anymore.

Vinvac. Many Thanks for posting reply 13, in the past I have had e-mails over a grammatical error.
Before I retired I managed 200 staff and would have been taken to tribunals for correcting grammatical errors as it’s seen as bullying and harassment in the workplace in many organizations.

Sometimes I use my Iphone, I think its a smartphone with a DUMB battery.
I use my laptop and PC mostly
