Hoover Windtunnel cord clip broken...again!

Which warranty are you referring to that "runs out in a week" if you haven't registered the vacuum with the home brand?
I believe it was said that there is
only one week left on the warranty. IF you have not registered it OR do not have the receipt, I'm not sure what might happen. perhaps they'll (HOOVER) replace it anyway. Let us know how it works out. Best of luck.

Thats why I asked. It was like my old Miele a few years ago. I hadn't registered it and it came with a 2 year guarantee. I clean forgot that I hadn't registered it and when phoning Miele UK one day, they mentioned that they had no record of the vacuum cleaner. That's when I registered it - and after 2 years when the original warranty went out - but Miele suggested that from the time I registered the vacuum, that's when the warranty goes live. A lot of brands also do this such as Vax (TTI) too, so that's a nice thing for companies to do, when serial number registration makes the warranty go live.
Update
My no-charge order has been placed this morning! Hoover is sending me a replacement handle, clip included, for FREE as a one-time courtesy.
In other news, today is my 21st birthday! So this was a pleasant birthday surprise.
I give a big thumbs up to Hoover for their excellent customer service! They have restored my faith in the company.

It's finally here!
Earlier this afternoon, the mail lady dropped off a package from Techtronic Industries. I opened it up, and my replacement handle was inside! So I went to install it.
Installing the new handle was really simple, since it involved disassembling the vacuum. I removed the pet attachments, unwrapped the hose and removed the dirt cup. I then removed the screw on the back and removed the old handle. I inserted the new handle, reattached the screw and put everything back together. So the procedure was basically the initial assembly all over again.
One thing I've noticed with the new handle is that the turbo brush stays on there a lot better. On the old handle, it would fall off and land on the floor on rare occasions. In addition, the handle has a "Made in China" sticker on the part that attaches to the vacuum.
Anyway, I'm glad to have a new handle for the Windtunnel. I'm going to vacuum with it this weekend and see how the clip holds up.

Lol it's quite common, I think it's used more than the word "vacuum." I once told a kid in my class that it's called vacuum, not Hoover. He disagreed with me and said "vacuum" is so 80's and Hoover is modern, I'm like are you kidding me?!
This takes me to for around tool users-"Use the Skilsaw to cut that to so and so!"The machine is some other brand of saw.Same with Kleenex tissues.For the saws-Skilsaw name is often used to note any brand or type of portable electric hand circular saw.And Kleenex for any type of tissue wipe.We could go on!-As with "Hoover"to vacuums.Guess for me I "Kirby" my floor!Or "Royal" it.
