Why are Sebo_fan and Parwaz786 talking about this Hometek upright?
My original post was about the cord clip on my Hoover upright which has broken off for the 2nd time and may not be covered under warranty.
Hoover products, in my experience, tend to break easily. I had a SteamVac Agility that was purchased 10 years ago, and it had easily broken parts as well. After about a year, one of the internal hoses split, rendering the carpet cleaning portion of the machine useless. It would only suction at the floor when locked in the upright position. But the hose still worked, so it became a (rather large) spot cleaner.
One of the solution tank lid latches broke off, but it was still able to latch onto the tank. Eventually the latch broke on the upholstery attachment, rendering it useless as well. However, the machine included a SpinScrub hand tool, so the loss of the standard upholstery tool wasn't a big deal.
A few years ago, ANOTHER internal hose split. With all of these broken parts, we threw out the entire machine in late 2012.
Below is a pic I found online of what it looked like.
