i know there were quite a few different models not sure how many but did the cyclone system change after the V2000 and the legal hoo ha with dyson i only ever had one other vortex, the red one one with the big foot and i never really took much notice of the inside of it, i got a video of my V2000 on you tube

To be honest I don't think the filter changed that much, using a paper pleated HEPA ring (S18) that the Vortex also used. Dyson didn't have a problem with the vacuum cleaner - it was the advertising & usage of the patent claim that Hoover put forward that Dyson took issue with. I do recall getting poly string pull bags with my Cyclean which was unusual at the time and can still be found online, pack of 10 /H53 code.

There are plenty of news links and paper editorials reporting that Dyson had taken Hoover to court over infringement of patents - certainly the Dyson Dual Cyclone system and the system used in Hoover are different IMHO.
