The part which let the 2000 series down was the plastic tubes. Although the first model in the series was sold as a stand-alone model, with metal tubes, when the whole range went on sale (including the Electricity Board model 2000), all but the top models had plastic tubes. The plastic tubes were very strong in terms of splitting, but they still were very bendy and flexible in use. Electrolux were of course clearly falling in line with what their competition were offering, and who could blame them, but never the less I did not like it as I always respected Electrolux for their high quality.
