Hoover turbo power 400

I went to the thrift shop today and found this beauty! It was in great condition, just a bit scratched up. I don’t too much about it. Other than it was made in 1997 (I think). The only problem I’m having with it is the brushroll. When I run it, it sounds like the belts rubbing against something. I’m using genuine belts. Any advice?

Those were honest vacuums. I always loved Hoover's "cleaning effectiveness per amp" rating.

I wouldn't say refined. They were pretty loud, not so well filtered and the hose was no fun to use but they feel like luxury goods compared to a Shark or a Diesoon.

Thanks for all the replies. I was wondering, should I try a new brushroll In it to see if that solves the belt issue I’m having? Any ideas?

Maybe the belt is out of spec? I am not sure really. I just said they looked refined, not that they were refined.
