Hoover Model 69 Re-listed

I cancelled and re-listed my Hoover Model 69, making some changes in the description and reducing the shipping ... even though I always lose out on the shipping amounts from eBay's shipping calculator. (On a recent auction the shipping was calculated at around $61.00 and some change: The actual shipping amount was around $107. Yeah. Ouch.)


 


Anyway, here goes....... hope someone loves this pretty old gal enough to buy her.

Even at what seem to be high shipping charges, I still lose money. I can't see how sellers can afford to list large and heavy things and offer free shipping, unless the bidding goes really high, and that's always a crap shoot.</span></h3>

"FWIW" here's the eBay shipping estimate and then the actual UPS shipping invoice on the listing I mentioned above...

I just noticed that the eBay shipping estimate I posted above was for USPS and not UPS. The UPS charge was about the same amount, however, so it really doesn't make any difference.......

I received a question about the Hoover Model 69's handle and switch. Both are original -- red switch; blue handle with Hoover logo on both sides.

Mine is exactly as what you have pictured. And, I am almost positive that is the way they came from the factory.

It's true.

The early ones had red switches,  while the later ones were white.  I have both.


 


  Also,  HOOVER was on the handle grips..........going plain to make cleaners for the likes of J.C. Penney, etc.  The logo came off the tools, too,  for the same reason.

I LOVE the rug your vacuuming in the pictures and video. Was that a local purchase or from a big retailer?
