I wouldnt give that much

For a new in the box Apex Strato Cleaner or a Lady Kenmore Whispertone, much less a HOOVER!

I can tell you this:

Ron F. (seller) is a great guy who has some great machines.
Yes, MIB fetched a high price. But, only because someone really wanted it, AND could /would pay that price. As we all know" How much is something worth?" is asked all the time. Now, we know. We've seen other machines go for high sums in the past.
I love the 69, would loved to have THAT one. However, I couldn't/wouldn't pay that, but someone did. Good luck to them. I'd certainly never bash a seller, buyer, make... Even I, yes, I, have rescued, purchased (non-Hoover species), to give to others who loved them. I've sold, traded, given. I even cleaned them up a tad before they left my place. I'd certainly pay a decent price, even, perhaps over $10.00....
But, Ron sold a few great specimens of Hoover. Seems like "Hoovermania" has "swept" Ebay!

Ludicrous that anyone would pay that for a MIB vac without the original Owner's Manual. And the seller had it, but can't find it.....lol.

I'm having way too much fun with my 1070 to consider another Hoover upright.

If I had the cash, I would definitely pay good money for a New-In-Box vacuum from the 1960’s or 1970’s - especially if it was a strong image from my childhood memories. Whenever I see an NIB Eureka Williams vacuum on eBay, I wish I had the funds to buy it and pay for shipping. For some people, it’s out of date junk, for others it is a valuable piece of personal history.

The early 69s...

Also were the last to have the Hoover Emblem in the sides of the handle grip (Which is why there is one little circle in the sides of the grip). As well as the early 69s were the last to have Hoover Embossed in the plug. after that Hoover did away with those touches. I personally think is a tad sad, but it was probably a cost thing.
