I'd appreciate the following information on the Hoover Convertible Model 36:

1. What type bags does it use? There was a Type C in it but it looked like it was too large at the opening.

2. What brush roll belt does it use?

3. Please post a photo or diagram showing the configuration of the height adjuster underneath the hood. I can't figure out how the plastic piece is supposed to be secured.

4. How do I get the fan out to clean it? I tried removing the 4 screws of the motor assembly but didn't have success.

5. Are replacement bands to hold the bag on the fill tube still available?

Here is a partial diagram I found online indicating the plastic piece I mentioned (no. 79).

I would also like to know the model of the original attachment set.

Hoover Convertible 36

Great vac and getting hard to find with original bag.
1-5--C is correct.A Lark/Jr belt will work to hold bag.For frequent use you could find a later bag assy for type A micron and easily snap on/off.

2-Round conv belt.Easily found.
3-Plastic piece is speed selector switch for tool use.The tab at side is pushed by converter.Mounts verticaly.Look for matching holes at bottom and at 2 speed switch.
4-Remove 4 screws then pry up gently around edges. You will see small hole at side of motor to lock armature with small screwdriver while turning fan nut with larger screwdriver.
Could use any Convertible att set before front converter.Standard 5 piece or deluxe with telescopic wand and floor brush.
Others will know more.

#034350

Does anyone know if the converter valve (part# 034350) will work on a Model 36? If not, please give me the correct part #.

Also, let me know if the valve is prone to breaking--if it would be a good idea to order more than one.
