What an awesome 29. I have been fortunate like you to find a few 'in the box' NOS in my lifetime. I always enjoy cleaning with them for the first time, after all, they were never meant to not be used.

looks like an unopened christmas present !this machine is so beautiful with its display for accessories ! its place would be in a museum but not for use . Congrats on your amazing find.

Welcome to Vacuumland, Will, and congratulations on entering it with such an impressive cleaner! That color brings to mind the Kirby Classic III 2-CB's candy apple red hue. I wonder if Hoover named its cleaner colors in those days?

I'm not well acquainted with the pre-'60s Hoovers so did some research on Vacuumland and found out that it was manufactured from 1950-53 along with the deluxe Model 62, and it's serial number range was A5000,001 to A531,896.

Please post a photo of the manufacturer's plate if you remove the base from the carton.

The full Hoover Cleaning System of the period included the color-matching Hoover Floor Polisher & Scrubber Model 0212; so you might want to look for it at your Restore just in case you missed it before or it hadn't been put out at the time. That would be icing on the cake - or should I say the decoration on the icing?

Again, welcome, and thanks for sharing your incredible find.

AMAZING find!

Depending on the price, I think I would have had to break my present moratorium on additional vacuum purchases for that one. As to why it went unopened and unused for some 70 years, my money is on it having been pushed back into the dim recesses of an old line appliance or vacuum store and forgotten, only to be found after the store closed up and the space was cleaned out for a new occupant...or demolition.
