Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum. I picked up a Hoover 375 vacuum cleaner yesterday and have started restoration work on it as it was a battered old machine. Unfortunately some metal parts have had rather bad rust and the mount for the handle has started to split due to the corrosion. I was hoping that someone may have a few spares for one laying around and may be able to help me out? I did think about trying to weld it but I think this may just make it worse as there doesn't seem to be much good metal to weld to. I have attached some photographs of the part. It should look great once it's finished, I'll have to make a thread on it!

Hi.

I would suggest taking this to a welding firm to get advice on if it can be done or not. Apart from that I would check ebay daily till a replacement unit comes up for sale.

I have this same junior vacuum. Yours is a 370 if I am correct as the motor unit for the 375 is a black bakelite housing in an art deco effect. I have a spare motor for that one but not the 370 which is what you have.

Here is mine.
