I do wish Hoover US would use the same names as Hoover UK - it does become terribly confusing, especially when you get into a conversation with an American about the Hoover Convertible (Dial-A-Matic).

Could that be a sign that Hoover UK & Hoover USA get back together like before Hoover UK got taken over by Candy? Or the end of the TTI takeover of Hoover USA

I have a Hoover "Dustette" too,neat little vac.The machine was bought at a local yard sale-the bag smells of WD40 when the vac is started.The former owner thought spraying the bag with WD40 allowed it to trap finer dust.She says she used to use the machine for cleaning windowsills.It seems like nowadays the hand type vacuums are going to rechargeable ones-keep in mind with the corded ones-more power and UNLIMITED run times!

Sadly it wouldn't matter if Candy sold Hoover to Hoover USA now either - current Hoover uprights are also made in China as well as other countries.

I see Dirt Devil have the Hoover Handy hand held cordless on their U,S site. It's called the Express 8. Equivalent dollars to pound conversion shows it should cost around £16. Pity Hoover UK's starting prices are £25,,,
