Today, Wednesday, I went back down to Sweeper Central to pay a visit to John Gregory. I brought him a black Hoover Legacy that needed servicing and I also brought him a practically new Self Propelled WindTunnel from 1999 to sell to him. It broke my heart to part with that vacuum, but keeping gas in the car is more of a priority.

After checking out the WindTunnel and agreeing on a price, John set to work fixing my Legacy before setting up a slew of fun photographs! I'm quite certain that many of the machines in the following photos haven't been seen before from his collection.

Also, something that I think is pretty neat, while John had to go upstairs to one of the other offices in his building, a customer came into the store looking for a vacuum. Not wanting to see someone stand around for 5 minutes while John was tending to other business, I asked them what they were looking for, and long story short, I helped seal the sale of the very last Hoover Lightweight Commercial (Elite style) that John had in stock. Sadly, this machine was discontinued a few months ago, so that cleaner is pretty special.

Now for the photos!

On the left is my Legacy, according to John it's the first model from the early 90s. On the right, is a customer's machine that is the last model of Legacy from the mid to late 90s.

In essence, we have the alpha and the omega of Legacies, the first and the last.

Next John poses with a blue Celebrity canister from the Hoover vault. To his left is a Model 918 Commercial that belongs to a woman in the neighborhood who still uses it religiously. It just received a thorough tuneup. To his right, is a near pristine late model Dial a Matic.
