This is the floor brush for our Miele Ambiente canister which my wife purchased in 1999. Are replacement brush strips available? If so, where?. You can no longer adjust the speed settings but otherwise the vacuum still runs like a champ. However, I feel like we're using it on borrowed time so not sure I want to pay $80 for a new Twister brush. Thanks

Dan, are you wanting to replace the brush strips so you can keep using the same neck and use the parking spot on the back of the Miele? If so, bad news - I don't think Miele has ever made replacement brush strips available for these floor brushes. And they are discontinued to buy separately - you can only buy the Parquet Twister separately now. However, on some lower line Miele canisters, like the Classic C1 series, this floor brush comes standard with them.

What I would suggest doing in your case is go on Ebay and try to find a floor brush where the brush strips look the same length. Then transplant them into your Miele floor brush. There are also plenty of original Miele floor brushes on there, so you could also just buy another one and replace it entirely. If you're worried about how long the vacuum may last, you could also just buy a generic fit all floor brush and use a Miele tool adapter with it.

As for the Parquet Twister, I would strongly suggest DO NOT BUY IT!!! And also don't bother buying the generic Chinese copies! The problem with them is the neck breaks VERY EASILY on them - very common to see people replacing it every 1/5 to 2 years. Also, they don't concentrate the airflow quite as well within the tool, so it has a harder time dealing with picking up dirt as a consequence. If you like that style floor tool, I would suggest looking at one of the clones that looks like a Parquet Twister but designed a little differently.

I would be tempted to ask a dealer about the brush strips. I was amazed to learn that Miele still stocks replacement brush strips for the metal brush roll in the old SEB226. Belts too. Not cheap but they have them. $18 for a stretch rubber belt! That thing has been out of production for decades but Miele still offers parts for them. No harm asking. Worst they can say is no.
