Used vacuums.

You bought a 35 convertible from me off of eBay and I'm a stranger! As I said the collecting community is small. Most of us know who did what to whom. And rumor has it you were buying for a vac shop owner who no longer is allowed to post on this site. I don't even have the dang thing anymore. After all it's just a vacuum.

As far as the "Taj" in New Jersey...................

A friend and I are going to do a "day trip" to
Atlantic City. It's only about 2.5 hours from us. He wants to just see the place once again before they renovate it. I don't gamble, but, have been there a few times on trips. I'm sure the cleaners are gone. I doubt there were any Hoovers there to begin with. I'm sure I won't be 'coming home with any treasures'. I just like to go through places like this, before the transformation takes place. It'll be fun to be back in Atlantic City. I used to spend a lot of time there, as, I taught not too far from there. I've seen the stuff people are dragging out of there.
Anyone want me to grab an iron for them?
lol :)

Dan Dan drama Dan if anyone has an issue tell it to this man! Seems like someone pulled the Tamp out a little early! Let's be honest it was pretty calm and quiet without you here! Did Kristov not make you lunch at noon? Talk about karma darling, you will soon learn what it is all about. You claim to be prim and proper but I see a little boy who didn't get the paddle often.
When I think of you I think of the saying "a fool and his money will soon part ways." Who in their right mind would spend $60 plus shipping on an item just to donate it? If that is something that you would do than you must be a fool. As far as the "other" member goes when said other past member does not get what he wants he gets angry and it seems as if that has rubbed off on to you, or you could just naturally be like him. By looking at the post it seems as if another member had gotten to it before you while you were clearly in the midst of using the wrong email address. Did I strike a nerve? Sorry I tend to do that once in a while. Where did you disappear too The fabulous yacht? I have missed your snarkyness and now that it is back I am able to bask in your words of wisdom, It has been so long that I didn't think I would be able to go on! Yet I am now whole once again!

Love:
Karma 😘😘

John Long,

I have only been to Atlantic City once, in 1985. My ex wanted to go. I lost $130 and have not gambled since. That was a day's gross pay for me in those days.
I did like the boardwalk, and the ehem, "buffet" at Caesers Palace.
From there we drove up to NY for a few days. I parked my Grand Prix in front of the River hotel at West and Christopher street, and we didn't need the car once.

I don't know if it's so much karma, or a double standard of wanting things both ways. A deal needs to work for both the buyer and seller. Neither gets all it would like to. Life is that way too often. Compromise. A double edged knife cuts both ways, or one hand washes the other.
Example: A conservative desires tax cuts, and also cuts to medicaid, medicare, social security, schools, etc. They also want and expanded defense budget, but at whose expense?
OK, so once medicaid is cut at the federal level, states will have to raise taxes to compensate and cover poor people. No one is refused treatment and most emergency rooms. Pick our poisons, and no, nada is ever free.
Conservative politicians also spend the social collective tax dollars as they see fit. All funds come from us, the public. It's all socialistic.
The people need very good paying incomes in order to share the tax burden so the rich won't have to pay more taxes. Lord knows there aren't enough rich to do it anyhow. My parents didn't need a reverse mortgage so they could retire.
One thing I've never been is brainwashed, or a hypocrite.
Some say the markets were lousy the past 8 years? So why were they in the toilet yesterday? The markets did way more recovering over the past 8 years than crashing, like from 2005 through 2009.

I'm concerned about the state of things now.

What's going to happen??
Atlantic City USED to be so nice when I was a child. We'd go to Haddon Hall (now Resorts International), go to the beach, etc.

I was a judge for The Miss Pennsylvania Pageant (of The Miss America System), and was invited to the pageant in A.C. It was fun.
I live 6 miles from a casino (I NEVER go in). Sometimes, friends will come to visit and ask to go there. I'll go there (we'll usually have dinner) that's about all.
As far as KARMA...............
My sister gave me coasters and napkins that read, "Dear KARMA, I've made a list of names you forgot".

As far as vacuums, we collect what we collect... some like the same, some not. WE get these cleaners various ways. Some buy new, some buy old, some trade, some ..... well, who knows?

I know,

and it's not only Atlantic city. It's the oldest sections of Baltimore also, Detroit, even Homewood in Pittsburgh, etc.
Chicago has problems and is larger than all those, but has made more overall progress with urban renewal since the 90's.
Many blame a certain demographic group. A kay kay kay rally the other day showed why they can't also wear dread locks, claiming hate is wrong toward them.
My response was, no one should wear locks, who has the keys?
I worked well inside the city limits back in the 80's, and as polarized as Detroit was then, racial tensions were no way as they are today as in other cities.
We were all just trying to work and survive. That was before the good paying blue, grey, and even many white collar jobs left.
The Treyvon Martin/George Zimmerman case seemed to spark more of it, and the Michael Brown case in Ferguson Mo. After president Obama was elected, there was also a new onslaught of anti african american hate. Calling them monkey and moochelle, etc.
I reported a hospital janitor when I was a volunteer for saying it. He was terminated. He said it in front of a black woman at my coffee bar.
I don't care what anyone thinks, but keep it to them selves. I'm not perfect, they aren't perfect, no one is, but why be part of the problem? That goes for all, if the shoe fits, in both camps.
Suppose I had been born black? I wonder what my disposition would be if I had been told I was less than others, without the proper mentoring to know that others can not keep me down?
Who failed whom? The parents, the schools, govt.? All of the above?
Oh well, nothing you nor I can much do. I hope we don't end up being a police state.
I remember a Saturday Night Live skit back in the late 70's or early 80's.
It was funny then, but not now, for some. Gavin Merritt sang, I'm gonna git me a gun and shoot all the whitey's I see.

Well I FINALLY won a bet

The nastiness is still going strong in here I LOVE reading it all I had just put on my favorite undies and got dressed and decided to check in on my "progress" . I was laughing so hard and loud I peed myself ya' ll are so hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 I will be donating my winnings to my favorite local dog rescue center .

Let me get out the crayons and construction paper once again and we shall learn today about making donations to charities . Let's start with this vacuum had I have been able to purchase it paid for it plus shipping and because I don't add "USED" vacuums to my extensive collection I would have donated this vacuum to my local charity and would have received a receipt to take to my accountant . I would hand him the receipt plus the receipt from the sale he would then take said amount and deduct it from my taxes along with any other deductions I present to him . Magically and "BOOM" my wasted money isn't wasted after all and maybe there is a collector in my area that would love to find this vacuum and add to a collection.

Ken Doll ,
Yes I did purchase that Hoover 35 used and in horrid shape except for the original bag which I was going to use on my mothers 35 which I had replaced the outer bag with a cloth white one . I wanted her machine to be back to original look with that outer bag . Right after I purchased that USED 35 from you one of my amazing vacuum shop owners ( I have 3 amazing friends who own vac shops ) said to me I have a NOS 35 bag in stock and I could have it . I gave that amazing friend the bag from your machine to use if and when needed and that USED 35 I bought from you went right in the garbage and you were not happy but once again it's MY money and I will spend it MY way .
On a side note I was speaking to my attorney friend and asked him if I have given the rights to MY collection and bank accounts to anyone including members of VL and he said absolutely not you are in total control of those two mentioned parts of MY life .

Atlantic City is well on its way to an amazing rebound the Real Estate is finally picking up it has been a once in a life time opportunity to pick up bargains in property's and I have purchased a number of homes condos and vacant land . We had exciting developments where major investors are once again investing in Atlantic City the Taj which my friend now OUR President Donald J Trump once owned will now become the Hard Rock casino they have bought said property at an awesome price and will spend a half a billion dollars in the renovation. Right now that building is a mold infested dump to be transformed into another spectacular AC attraction. Stockton University has purchased the land parcels next to one of my condominium investments and just like magic the values are on the rise . My retirement is already looking even better than I would have ever anticipated.

On the Topic of Karma it's already happened judging by the nasty remarks always directed at me . To think that I have that kind of power makes me chuckle. Enjoy your selves all my responders may you find peace and happiness in your lives . God Bless you all and stay cool if you can this is supposed to be a hot week .

Dan

P.S Any vacuum collector should know that the Tal Mahal had helped Oreck become famous allowing David Oreck to advertise his Oreck vacuums are used exclusively at the Taj . They never used Hoover or any other brand .

Mold remediation

on a tower that size will be very costly indeed. There also was another developer who invested in the Trump Plaza, etc.

This goes back to 1990; "I got the power" by Snap. It's getting kinda heavy, so please, stay off my back, or I will attack, and you don't want that. I got the power!

That's what I meant by failed ventures. Not the Central Park ice rink though.
His new towers have zero American steel in them. He got the power too.
