tom im talking specifically about the domestic home models. commercial cleaners while indeed metal based for a while longer, werent available for the general public to buy at retail stores.

and bikerray. the model number is pressed into the casting of the base in the rectangle below that metal plate. this is where convertibles with aluminum castings having thier model number stamped into after the model 714 and 1010's. that UL plate is just the covering to hold the rear axle in place. not a model ID

You’re a good friend and I’m so glad you got that machine. Next time we talk on the phone, you will have to give me the “skinny“ on it.

Maybe you'll be so kind as to let Owen Perkins bring it to the Vacuum Cleaner Collectors Convention this year. Everyone would LOVE to see it. You do amazing restorations. Everyone comments on the brand-new satin bags you made for my oldest Hoovers. And thanks again for rebristling my 1917 Hoover old style Special's brush roll for me. It's a delight to use exactly as it would have been when new.

I'm well aware of where the model number normally is, but this is just a blank where it should be.

Here are pictures of the blank model number with the serial number and also a front on shot of the fake light lens
