Hi Guys and Girls too, I´m trying to buy some rubber belts for my dual voltage, dustbin Hoover Convertible Vacuum. The thing is this: Just by chance my daughter is going to stay 4 days in San Francisco, CA. so I would like to make coincide the purchase and its delivery with her staying in San Francisco. The first problem I face is short time in advance, the second it´s that I don´t know any vacuum service shop in that area, I´ve never been there. But perhaps someone might know somebody, reliable so as to buy from him and pay through Pay Pal. Thank you very much in advance. Yours Gus, from Montevideo.
P.S. If anyone of you is willing to sell such spare parts, you can write to me through e-mail.

There is a shop at 947 Irving Street in San Francisco called F&H Vacuum. Nice folks, though I haven't been there in years. It is in the "Inner Sunset" neighborhood, out near Golden Gate Park, at about 10th Avenue. Irving St. is just one street up from Lincoln Way, which runs along the edge of GG Park. They USED to be an authorized Hoover repair store, in the years when those existed. If she can't get them there, she can try Sunset Sewing and Vac at 1512 Irving St., just 6 blocks closer to the Pacific Ocean. She can get to either one of these places on Irving by taking the "N Judah" streetcar from downtown, though she should be aware that the N makes a turn at 9th Avenue and goes up to Judah and runs along that street out to the Ocean, one block north of Irving. Still only a block away from Irving.

Good Luck. I hope she loves San Francisco. There's no place like it on earth!

Dear John, thank you for your directions, but I´m intending to order from here and make have sent (I mean make they deliver) the purchase to my daughter´s address. In four days she won´t have time( and will) to buy anything like this. It´s a triumph to be able to make her carry the parts. So what I look for is an address (e-mail address) so I can order through this way. Anyway I´ve seen plenty of times your name around here. And I thank you once again for your kindness. Hugs Gus.

Gus, surely there isn't a vacuum shop in your country that isn't a Hoover dealer, or get access to Hoover parts?? Or is Hoover even sold in your country? I would try reaching out to Hoover on Facebook, or send the company an email directly, & see if there are any authorized service centers or dealers. Might be best to just deal with a local company, especially if you ever need repairs you then know of a place to deal with.

Rob, unfortunately Hoover do not have any representative. Here is a rare make; if you can find any Hoover it's just somebody has taken it from abroad. Your suggestion is the most rational thing, BUT as there's no support from the maker here, well that's the problem. Anyway I believe I have alternatives, like John Long in Pennsylvania. Thank you for your answer. Gus
