Hoover Constellation wiring...

Hi folks, hope you are still safe.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for a Constellation. I worked on at least 4 machines since I dismantled it and for some odd reason I can not figure out the wiring.

I have a wire each coming from what looks like the area surrounding the coil, but there is a place for wires to attach at each brush housing. Of course there is a on off switch with two spots on it.

I must have gotten things mixed up and should have taken pictures.

HELP!

Always remember a simple formula that helps:

There are two leads from the cord, two from the switch, and two from the motor.

Join one cord lead and one switch lead.
Join one motor lead and one cord lead.
Join one switch lead to one switch lead.

If there's a power nozzle receptacle (the constellation doesn't have one):
Join the two power nozzle receptacle leads one each to the two motor leads, then proceed with the wiring as stated above.

I was carefully reading what you wrote, not sure about the pairing....switch to switch?

Sorry: That should be switch to motor.

switch to motor
motor to cord

Garry,

those Connies are actually very easy to service, and use. Chris (upstate N York) greased one for me . When he opened it up, he realized that someone had made an error too with the wiring. He easily corrected the mistake.
