Hoover Concept parts machine.

I bought a concept from the thrift store as a parts machine to replace the wheels on my newly acquired PowerDrive U6311 which was sent to me with broken wheels. Right now I have the PowerDrive in storage in my attic. I can't remember if the release peddles were also busted but the machine itself seems fine! If anyone is willing to tell me the steps on how to replace the wheels and foot releases it would be very much appreciated.

The concept is only going to be used as a parts machine because its missing it's baseplate as well as the brushroller and belt.

This is about a 2 minute job.

If you look on the back of the wheel, there's three tabs holding the cover on.

Press on them using your finger and they should come off fairly easily. You shouldn't need a screwdriver to remove them.

Once those are off, you'll see an e-clip holding the wheel on. Slowly pry that out using a flatblade screwdriver. Be careful not to lose it.

You'll see a thin washer in between the wheel and release pedal. Remove this and set it aside.

Take a picture of how the spring is oriented in the pedal before removing it.

Once you remove the spring, the pedal slides right out. After that, just reverse the process and you'll be good to go.

Hey BTW would you happen to know what this is? It was rattling inside the vacuum and fell out, but upon inspection there was no place this looked like it would fit. Vacuum works great regardless. Could've even been something sucked by mistake that never went up.

That is one of the arms that keeps the brushroll from touching the carpet. It sits on the transmission. Since that piece is broken off, the machine might sit lopsided when in the standing position but should be fine otherwise.

I figured that when the machine seemed a bit off balance in the upright position. Vacuuming it seems to work wonders and thankfully it's lopsided-ness isn't too noticeable. But I'm 100% NOT ordering from eBay anymore. This is the second person I bought from that had broken parts. Thank you so much for all your help.

Way too clean and nice to be using as a parts machine. These are too rare now to be destroying them. I paid $130 for mine and it's all beat up.

This one unfortunately was definitely past its time. Scuffed all over, suction port at the bottom not even connecting to the front intake, brushroll not on it and neither was the plate cover. Whoever previously owned it did it a disservice. I did however keep the cord and helpmate hand vac for my car though.

Those are all minor problems. That's what every vacuum from Goodwill looks like actually. lol I have vacuums a lot worse off than that, some are even just a box of parts! (people that took them apart and can't put them back together or gave up)

It was moreso a last minute emergency decision because the vac I ordered had parts that broke from shipping and had similar parts to the concepts. Whats worse is that it was the second time I ordered from eBay with a vacuum being damaged. So I didnt want to throw this one out in the trash like I had to with the other eBay purchase cause I only needed the wheels and springs. The first one I ordered on eBay last year was shot on arrival. Every mechanism busted because the entire base was ripped almost to shreds. The Power Drive (what I ordered this time) also is being sadly phased out with parts becoming increasingly harder to find. So buying the concept and doing what I did was a last minute decision to save another from heading to the trash on arrival. The PowerDrive was an early Christmas gift. I had no idea the Concepts were honestly becoming rarities at this time!
