So I picked one of these up from my local vac shop on the cheap. I can see why now after having waited for a new wheel axle to arrive for 2 months it finally got here. Threw it in today without much issue except for the fact that the self adjusting height is not working or doesn't appear to be. I took the actuator out of the base of the machine and took it apart, everything appears normal inside no damage to any of the gears or anything (which are all plastic). Threw everything back together and still nothing. Anyone have an idea the cause? I haven't checked any of the circuitry yet but at this point nothing looks burned or damaged.

Side note, these machines are trash. Sorry if that offends anyone. The plastic on these is the cheapest made material I have ever seen on a vacuum, this is a COMMERCIAL machine and it is flimsier than many of the plastic vacs sold at walmart! How the hell could this have gotten out the door with TTI? To top it all off it has air leaks all over the bag door the SEBO I had did not, AT ALL. For a knock off of the much better SEBO/Windsor it doesnt even feel like they tried with this machine and its a $500 product!

I know for me the self adjusting vacuums just can't keep pace with me. Also on commercial level loop carpet if he floor is uneven it will try to adjust to the proper height and just FAILS.

It could be the circuit board is shot. The only one that benefits from those are the manufacturer. Circuit boards and cleaning/laundry/dishwashing equipment just do not pair well.

Welcome to the future.

Yea there is three boards in this thing... no telling which one is shot or not. I’m betting you are right though.

I wanted one of the Hoover Insight Vacuums either like yours or my “Dream” ideal was to buy a Hoover Insight model EH50100 in the olive-ish green color. For some reason I wanted it for the color and more specifically for the auto brushroll height.

Then my friend Roger Lang (aka ibaisaic) got me hooked on wanting the Sebo Automatic X4 with Boost, but hearing him and others say the same thing.. it’s constantly changing height. Or Rogers particular situation where he felt it didn’t lower down enough for Best agitation of the carpet.. I kinda just gave up on all of them.

Now to hear Hank say the Hoover Insight are “Trash”.. I guess I will skip it all together. I do LOVE my Sebo Felix, but sure would like a vacuum that had automatic brushroll height. It’s not automatic but it’s power adjusting height, my Hoover Windtunnel 2 Complete Bagless U8371-900. It’s noisy and bulky but a lot of fun to adjust the height with the easy to reach power dial.

Anyone know of a reliable, auto adjust vacuum they could recommend? Thanks

Sounds like the circuit board is shot. It's actually a common problem that's usually found on Sebo with their automatic height adjustment models really, even my Kenmore that was made by Sebo has that issue as well. The store I work for never liked dealing with circuit boards and that was one of the reasons why they quit selling Sebo. I would not be suprised if this also had that issue as well because we sell the Insight models but we only have the CH50100 on our display since we kinda figured the CH50102 would have that same issue too. I know Sanitaire just recently came with their EON models and they only have the manual height adjustment models probably because they were also aware of that issue. But for have the price off of a Sebo, don't really expect this to have the same quality or durability as the Sebo.

Thanks for the info man. What board would you recommend replacing? Interesting I can buy a new base assy for it. The main pcb is $200 and the entire unit is $260....

Also found it interesting that the eon is made in China as well.
