Hoover Celebrity Rebuild

Ok, I hope I don't sound too full of myself, but I am very proud of myself for the work I did on this vacuum. This vacuum had some horrible bearing noise and generally did not run good when I got it. So, I decided to fix it myself.

The reason I am proud of myself is because this is the FIRST vacuum motor I have completely taken apart, thrown in the dishwasher, let sit over night, and then put back together...and it runs like new now. I was so happy I didn't destroy it. I guess it was just so packed with dirt and filth that is why it did not run good.

Anyways, I put a longer cord on it and gave it a good polishing. The power nozzle is NOT the original, but it matches good enough until I get an original. I'm really not worried about that.

The only complaint I have is the hose is very short. Are all the Celebrity hoses short?

Great job Logan, I've yet to work on a motor myself, have others around who are experts at repairs so I'm not anxious to do one myself, although I'm sure it would be a rewarding experience! The only Celebrity that came with a longer hose that I know of were the top of the line models. The powenozzle that you've paired with this model would've come from a TOL machine which had the longer hose. Enjoy this machine, and that's the best power nozzle Hoover ever made!

If you can tackle a Celebrity motor and come out alive, you can take pretty much any motor apart.

Was the fan-nut practically welded on? That's the worst part on those, I find... getting that damn fan nut off while not bending the fan.

I think that powernozzle was originally from a green Dimension 1000. The power nozzle with my Celebrity has some different graphics on it.

Only the TOL models had the long hoses. That hose is probably just a 6' hose.

Actually the fan nut was not hard to get off after I figured out I was turning the socket wrench the wrong way. OOPS! There was what looked to be black cat hair all caught up in the fan. It was nasty.

Yeah that power nozzle came from a Dimension. I'm not sure why the previous owner had it. Maybe they bought it separately after they bough the Celebrity. Anyways, a friend of mine has the original green power nozzle that should go match this Celebrity that I'm going to trade him something for it. I'm also going to look for a longer hose too. The short hose makes the vacuum bump into me constantly while I'm using it. LOL.

rebuild compact power head

Hello. I need help rebuilding my compact power head model c9
I have taken the cover off the motor now I neen to know how to
rebuild the motor it is noisy and slowing down .any help is welcome
first motor I am rebuilding thanks alot I do apreciate
my compact and would like to keep it in top shape thanks
Taken armuture out of motor just nred advice on how to make sure
evryting will work carbon brush look ok to me

Well done on stripping the motor, I presume it runs a lot better now!

As said, rebuild one motor and you can rebuild them all, old Hoover motors are so simple to work on

well afther a few hours spent trying to open the darn thing armature is out , carbon brush are out , found o ut the ball bearing is more than shot ...
no wonder it sounded like it was grinding and slowing down.
Full of grease dirt dust bunnies oufff .
Taking a break tonight im continuing tomorrow im off .
Any pictures would help me as I have a little issue putting it back together but im getting there .
Brush roll is in good shape I have a metal VB3 might switch im not sure yet .
If the motor is stil a no go EBAY TO THE rescues whit a new motor not sure yet But it wont win whit me lol .I rebuilt 2 shop vac , a Kenmore evo bagless 300 $ vacuum whit power head and she was fix .This little compact power head got none on me haha joking of course let me know what yall think any advice is welcome first power head that I rebuilt any tips also thanks yall have a great day
